How are donations to the Queens General Hospital Foundation used?

Funds donated to the QGH Foundation are used to improve health care within the hospital. From time to time, the Foundation may fund health related community projects.

How can I help the Queens General Hospital Foundation?

There are a number of ways you can help – whether making a donation or by planning a fundraiser.  Gifts to the Foundation can be made online through, by mail, or in person.  Your giving options include:

• Our Annual Campaign – Each year, we reach out to the community via mail to ask for your support for the Foundation
and its priority project
• Monthly Giving – contribute online or by providing post-dated cheques by mail
• In Honour and In Memoriam Gifts – contribute online, by mail, or in person
• Leave a Legacy – remember the Foundation in your will
• Gift of Securities – contribute stocks or mutual funds to the Foundation

Will I receive a charitable income tax receipt for my donation?

Queens General Hospital Foundation is a registered charity. All cash donations of at least $20 are issued a receipt.

Is there a minimum contribution?

All contributions are welcome. However, only donations of at least $20 will be issued a receipt.

I don’t like using my credit card on the internet. Can I make a direct contribution with my credit card? Can I do that over the phone?

CanadaHelps complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). As part of that compliance, they do not actually store your credit card information on their servers, but can recall your encrypted information in order to save you time when you donate.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept credit card donations in person or by telephone. also has a PayPal option, if you would prefer not to share your credit card information.

Am I able to make an anonymous gift?

Yes, you are able to make a donation via anonymously and/or if you prefer not to have your gift made public, the Board will not include you on its annual donor list.

What percentage of my contribution actually goes toward Queens General Hospital?

All funds raised by the Foundation, except a small amount to cover our administrative costs, are used for priority projects identified by Queens General Hospital healthcare providers and, from time to time, for health-related community projects.

Am I able to contribute to a specific purchase or campaign?

Yes, we are happy to let you know what the current priority projects are and will direct your donation to a specific project.
